What got you interested in working in the world of Legacy Home and Estate Services?
I have been a nonprofit fundraiser for over 15 years and have managed my fair share of silent auctions. When I was introduced to Dave and he said he could take on the majority of my work load AND host the auction on his site FOR FREE, I was skeptical. Plenty of people say they’re going to help but don’t actually show up. Dave and the Legacy team showed up! Their support saved my organization thousands of dollars and countless hours of staff time. On top of it all, the team is a lot of fun! I knew after that first auction that I would always be on Team Legacy. Since then, I’ve referred lots of other nonprofits to Legacy and continue to tell everyone about the turnkey, compassionate estate services they provide. I’m honored and excited to now get to officially be part of the staff!

Where did you grow up?
I grew up on my family’s farm in Clermont, KY, just south of Louisville. The majority of my career has been in the nonprofit sector in Louisville.

What is your favorite thing you found in a house?
A vintage 1985 Teddy Ruxpin, still in the box. It was my partner’s favorite toy as a child, and I’ve been on the lookout for one to surprise her with. The team found one in a barn and it almost didn’t go up for auction! Once it was listed, I made sure to win the bidding war!

What is the funniest thing you had to tell your friends about in a house?
A folded up $20 bill. Except when you opened it, it said, “Are you disappointed? Think about how disappointed you’ll be if you don’t go to heaven!”

We are treasure hunters, what are things you consider a treasure?
I treasure meaningful conversations and laughter with friends. I treasure quality time with my family. And I treasure doing gardening and house projects, and the peace and joy that comes from making a house a home.

Tell us one story that you would love for folks to know about you and your legacy?
I hope my legacy is that I devoted myself to making our community a better place, that I could always be relied on to be a good friend, and that I raised my daughter to be kind, determined, courageous, and loving.
